This initiative was put forth in 2017 by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in an effort to drive awareness to racial equality. In its first year the campaign, #thedaytoheal ran for 45 days and reached over 30 million people on Facebook and Twitter alone, garnering national attention and noteable press coverage for being the first multi-camera livestream production of its caliber.
